Our mission is to provide an exceptional teaching and learning program that meets the needs of all our students. We have high expectations within the context of a rigorous curriculum. At the same time, we offer students numerous opportunities to participate in a wide range of co-curricular offerings, extracurricular activities, and interscholastic sports. We expect much from our students while we get to know and support every learner. Working closely with parents, we develop a partnership to create a school community that promotes the success of our students.
Welcome to the Winchester High School!

Students are expected to remain on campus during the school day, with the exception of their assigned lunch block where they may leave campus. Families choosing to opt-out of the open campus for lunch option should fill out the opt out google form.
Students may not go to their cars during the day unless permission is received from the main office. Loitering in the parking lot or in vehicles during the day is prohibited. “Campus” is considered as WHS property on the school side of the railroad embankment. Students who are off campus, other than during their designated lunch block, or loitering in parking lots may be subject to discipline.
Students are expected to be good community partners when in the building or in the community. Administration reserves the right to revoke open campus privileges for any and all students.

Members of the National Honor Society (juniors and seniors) fulfill a tutoring requirement throughout the course of the school year. We would be happy to match a student up with a tutor in a subject they would like some extra help with, depending on the availability of tutors who are proficient in that area. Tutoring sessions will be held before or after school at WHS for the high school students.

The Massachusetts Consortium for Innovative Education Assessment (MCIEA) is a partnership of seven public school districts and their local teacher unions, joined together to create a fair and effective accountability system that offers a more dynamic picture of student learning and school quality than a single standardized test.
The MCIEA school quality framework – derived from a combination of empirical findings, public polling, and focus groups with local stakeholders – is comprised of five categories: three inputs (Teachers and Leadership, School Culture, and Resources) and two outcomes (Academic Learning and Community and Well-Being).
